It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for something you are not. - Andre Gide

I'm a proud husband and father living in the United States. I love to cook, travel, garden, and relax at home with my two dogs. I have always been passionate about computers and the internet.
Out of high school, I wanted to be a computer programmer but never really finished school. Now that my kids are getting older, I'm getting back into it and I LOVE IT!
I am a huge believer in self teaching, and learning through exploring and discovering the "what-ifs" in life. Getting my hands dirty and learning through hands-on exercises and do-it-yourself projects is how I've always learned new skills.
I have taught myself to cook, including making sour dough bread, risotto, and I occasionally make home made chicken pot pies. There's nothing like homemade food - and there's nothing like the satisfaction of doing something after you've taught yourself how to do it!
I have always loved and have been a huge advocate for online learning. The convinience and flexibilty of being able to learn something at your own pace, in your own home, and in your time is huge. No commutes, no wasting gas and time, and being able to hop online to learn any time you want or need is such a big deal in the modern world.
The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. - Eleanor Roosevelt
